I bet you've been waiting all week to post it! Shoe got me thinking of the great old comic strip by Jeff McNelly- Shoe. I miss it. So I looked it up and found out he died in 2000, I didn't realize it had been that long. Well, two great men lost that year.
I actually just thought of this riff today on my run. I'm in week one of training for the Philly marathon and in agony but I figure if I don't make it, I'll have all that training for next time.
wow, i'm gearing up for a half-marathon early Sept...don't know how people do the 26.2 thing, but i envy y'all...good luck. Those shoes look like they've seen a few hundred miles!
