I sang the song for him and he said, "No, you were just singing the wrong notes."

Priceless.

Keep at it. Those of us without natural talent are interested in your journey to instructed talent and how it goes.Wenderinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07340237940859669413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468344642596854573.post-54546287859197482542010-12-04T04:26:43.396-08:002010-12-04T04:26:43.396-08:00I was seven years old when the Beatles hit the Ame...I was seven years old when the Beatles hit the American continent. One day I was sitting on the floor in my older sister Kathy's room while she played her "Meet the Beatles" LP. I was singing along with "All My Loving," when she suddenly started yelling at me. I pretty much ignored her until my mom came in, asking what was wrong. I barely paid attention while my sister yelled, "He's singing all the wrong notes!" My mom listened to me for a few seconds, and said (with a smile) "He's singing the harmonies." So, yeah, some of us latch onto singing instinctively. The very first night my first band played a gig, the question I got most (from patrons and the club owner) was "What other bands have you sung with?" They were all surprised to learn that I'd only sung along with the radio (and in church choirs) before then. Having said all that, there were (and are) still things I could learn that pros do to sing better, and good luck to you in learning them! The Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00730805376957629641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468344642596854573.post-16891846202702981262010-12-03T15:43:17.357-08:002010-12-03T15:43:17.357-08:00You are inspiring me to re-think the singing thing...You are inspiring me to re-think the singing thing. Tas used to try to teach me and he said if I didn't think about it too hard, I could sing on key. What a wonderfully kind man he was. I also had (and probably still do) trouble with the high E Flat on my flute. That note would go so flat, or sound so wimpy, I was embarrassed.Jane- 2 of 7https://www.blogger.com/profile/08687675489648006638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468344642596854573.post-49243215476407533952010-12-02T21:22:49.097-08:002010-12-02T21:22:49.097-08:00You have a wonderful writing voice! You have a wonderful writing voice!cathy slobodzian kresshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04771462849663028584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468344642596854573.post-45701312031182796392010-12-02T03:12:12.312-08:002010-12-02T03:12:12.312-08:00nice...so looking forward to hearing you sing...go...nice...so looking forward to hearing you sing...good for you...Brian Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722940075884718007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468344642596854573.post-30048488075879159742010-12-01T19:28:12.191-08:002010-12-01T19:28:12.191-08:00Don't throw in the towel, Kate!
